Alloys and Tyres
Alloy wheels are a statement, they give your car an individual look and with new alloys being released all the time there are lots to choose from.
Tyres on the other hand are one of the most important investments you can make as they are what keep your pride and joy on the road, so you will want to invest in the best performing tyres you can find.
What does it all mean?
PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter)
This refers to the bolt pattern of your wheel/car. For example a 4-100mm PCD would be a four stud fitment and the mounting holes would fall on an imaginary circle around the centre of the wheel with a diameter of 100mm.
Offset
This is a measurement which determines where the wheel sits in the wheelarch (left to right not up and down). It is the distance between the centre line and the back face of the mounting surface.
Tyre Size
Take for example a tyre size of 195/45R16. The 195 relates to the tyres width in millimetres. The 45 relates to the height of the tyres sidewall being 45% of the tyres width (195mm). The letter in this case, R is the speed rating of the tyre and the 16 is the wheel diameter to fit the tyre too in inches.
